Barbell Racks Danvers MA

Getting a barbell rack is all well and good, but if you have children it's probably best to play it safe and install a gate or locked door on your gym so they can't access it unsupervised. After all, even if there aren't weights on the floor for kids to trip over they can still get caught up in machines or injure themselves if they try and roll a weight off of a rack.

Barbell Racks

Barbell Racks

You've likely caught onto the fact that having a rack in your gym for barbells or dumbbells will afford you a ton of extra space and keep your gym a lot safer for everyone using it. For example, a couple I know uses their unfinished basement as they're weight room. This wouldn't pose a problem for them if they didn't have kids, but children are naturally curious. Obviously this couple wouldn't be very good parents if they left barbells on the floor with 2 uncontrollable toddlers in the house.

Just to keep your gym safe and organized a barbell rack will store up to 10 curved or straight barbells safely and securely. When I look at a barbell rack the word ladder-design comes to mind because of the way they conveniently stack your bells from lightest to heaviest. The barbells are held up on either side by pegs that run along the length of the frame. This ladder design offers easy preloading meaning the bells are more convenient to grab off the rack then off the floor for exercises.

Barbell racks will accommodate both straight and curled bars. So you won't have to rush out and buy new bells in order to keep your gym safe and roomy. Straight barbells, including Olympic barbells and standard barbells, are typically 1-inch thick and 5-feet in length. You'll find them for sale online and in department stores in sets that range from 10-pounds to 100-pounds. Most sets come in increments of 10-pounds, but after looking hard enough I found a set in 5-pound increments.

Curved barbells, or curl bars as they're often called, work just as well. They are designed specifically to take the...
