Nearly a dozen manufacturers offer aquatic exercise products, the most popular of which are aquatic floats. Water floats strap onto arms, ankles, waists and wrists and stay buoyant in the water to create resistance. They're made of plastic, rubber, PVC, ethafoam and various other materials.

Participants also incorporate floats and weights to work every muscle in the body. The most popular water floats include floatation belts and water cylinders, or water woggles.
