If you don't already know how important it is to vary your resistance training program, then consider yourself told! I say this because so many people tell me that they gave up weight training because they stopped seeing results.

People, your body was made to adapt and no matter how out of shape you are when you begin to work out, as your body becomes accustomed to a certain movement like cardio or lifting weights it becomes easier and eventually your body will become desensitized to that movement. For example, when I started lifting weights I began with 10-pound dumbbells and that was the heaviest weigh I could lift. Sure, 3 sets with those 10-pounders tired me out 8 years ago, but after lifting them every other day for 2 weeks they became lighter. That was my body adapting to the weight and my cue that I had to adjust to a heavier weight in order to progress.

That's why it's so important to incorporate adaptable equipment into your home gym. You might not believe it now, but if you stick to it you can only improve.
