Pedometers Jerome ID

Pedometers are secured to your clothes via a clip. Where you clip your pedometer can influence its accuracy. The best place to secure your pedometer is at your waistband where you can easily view the display. Clip the pedometer on upright (so that it stands straight up and doesn't tilt). It should also be worn away from other clothing so rubbing doesn't knock the display buttons and throw off your step count.

Pedometers

Pedometers keep track of the steps you've tread by sensing your body's movements. They then convert the number into a distance according to the length of your average stride. Wearing a pedometer either all day or as part of your walking workout is a great motivational tool to keep you active. Start with a goal of 2,000 per day and increase your daily steps by 500 until you reach a goal of 10,000 steps per day.

Basic pedometers simply count your steps, but you can find pedometers that calculate and display in more detail such as distance, calories burned, speed, time elapsed, steps per minute. Some even have dual functions as a stopwatch functions, a built-in radio or a heart rate monitor.

Generally pedometers include one of two styles:

Basic Step Counting Pedometers simply count and display your steps. Some will convert the number of steps tread into a distance calculation.
