Most bikes have adjustable seats; while higher-end bikes have programmable displays that keep track of the time elapsed, speed, heart rate, calories burned and miles pedaled. Top-end stationary bikes will even let you pick from a variety of programmed courses that mimic outdoor terrains such as uphill, interval or manual settings.

Stationary bikes come in various different styles. Pick one that is most comfortable for you. The most popular types of stationary bikes include:

Upright Stationary Bikes: Provide a traditional upright cycling workout. Similar to riding and actual bike you sit up looking forward and sitting on a traditional bike seat while pedaling.
